DỊCH VỤ THAM KHẢO ẢO
Ngày nay khi khoa học kỹ thuật phát triển, con người cũng phát triển để theo kịp nền kinh tế thị trường, họ dồn phần lớn thời gian cho việc kinh doanh và họ có nhu cầu tìm kiếm thông tin nhanh chóng tiện lợi thay vì phải đến thư viện để tra cứu thông tin họ cần thư viện phục vụ tại nhà. Để đáp ứng nhu cầu này các thư viện đã nghiên cứu và đưa ra một dịch vụ gọi là dịch vụ tham khảo ảo.
Dịch vụ tham khảo ảo là gì?
Theo OCLC (Online Computer Library Center), “Tham khảo ảo là việc sử dụng kỹ thuật truyền thông và vi tính cung cấp dịch vụ tham khảo đến người dùng mọi lúc và mọi nơi.
Các loại tham khảo ảo:
Tham khảo số không đồng thời, như tham vấn qua e-mail và Web-form (mẫu đơn trên web): ở đây, người dùng gửi câu hỏi và nhân viên thư viện hồi đáp sau.
Tham khảo số đồng thời, như chat và đàm thoại qua IP: ở đây, người dùng và nhân viên thư viện trao đổi với nhau vào cùng một thời điểm.”
Như vậy, tham khảo ảo là các hình thức tham khảo qua e-mail, Web-form, đàm thoại qua IP và chat
Với dịch vụ này cho phép người sử dụng có thể ngồi tại nhà để tìm kiếm thông tin của một tài liệu hay một vấn đề nào đó một cách nhanh chóng và chính xác mà không cần phải vào tìm kiếm trong thư viện bằng việc truy cập qua các Website của thư viện đã cung cấp. tuy nhiên, nếu muốn tư vấn rõ rằng và thật sự đầy đử thì người sử dụng cũng có thể đến yêu cầu trực tiếp với cán bộ thư viện.
Chức năng của dịch vụ tham khảo ảo:
• Xây dựng và tổ chức nguồn lực tài liệu và trang thiết bị liên quan nhằm đáp ứng nhu cầu thông tin, cung cấp các dịch vụ tham khảo một cách trực tiếp, qua điện thoại, email (hoặc Fax).
• Tổ chức, thực hiện công tác tra cứu và tập huấn tra cứu thông tin. Cung cấp một cách tích cực và đúng lúc các thông tin tham khảo chính xác và hữu hiệu cho người dùng tin. Từng bước hoàn thiện bộ máy tra cứu thông tin tư liệu trong mỗi thư viện.
Bản chất của dịch vụ tham khảo ảo:
o Tìm dữ liệu/thông tin cho người sử dụng
o Cung ứng sự hướng dẫn và hỗ trợ cho người sử dụng
o Cung ứng sự huấn luyện
BƯỚC 1:
Vào trang web của thư viện quốc gia Singapore với link http://www.pl.sg/
bạn click vào chữ PUBLIC LIBRIAN:

Sau khi click vào chữ PUBLIC LIBRARIAS, màn hình hiện ra giao diện bên dưới. Tiếp theo bạn click vào chữ JUST ASK:
BƯỚC 3: Sau khi nhấp vào mục JUST ASK, vào mục hỏi đáp, màn hình như sau:

Nhập địa chỉ Email vào mục E-mail ADDRESS; nhập tên vào NAME và nội dung câu hỏi vào mục YOUR QUESTION. Sau đó nhấp vào Submit.
Sau khi nhấn submit màn hình nhận được như sau:
Với câu trả lời của thư viên như sau, có nghĩa là bạn đã gửi câu hỏi cho thư viện thành công.
Bạn có thể nhận được câu trả lời trực tiếp của thư viện hoặc được hẹn trả lời qua mail.
